    Unhappy closing paid off cc

have i totally messed up my credit that i am trying to build back up by closing my visa account i've had for 15 yrs? the cc company royally ticked me off and i hastily closed it. i do have another major cc (discover) that i've had for 10 yrs and i'm keeping it open. it is paid off as well. just wondering how much my credit score may drop because of my angry decision...

    Default closing cc

mr credticard can refute this, but from what i learned researching this varies by your other debt-income ratio and other factors. you can give it some time and run your credti report. perhaps consider opening another credit card to increase your available credit ratio.

these scores are changing from time to time. it's not known exactly what portion of scores will be deducted from your history.

You are correct. Best to leave 15 year accounts open if there is no annual fee. Just leave it in the drawer and never use it! Long credit history is good.

Yeah that's true. I learned that the hard way by not waiting long enough in the past
