Default what is your first regular credit card after credit cleanup?

Just wanted to find out what was your first regular (as in no annual fee - ok rates) card after improving your credit.

After taking a hit in my credit 2 years ago, it is now coming back and close to 600. Still have the orchard, first premier and imagine and want to dump these for a more mainstream card.

Would like to get an amex or maybe a citi?

    What are your experiences?

Got the amex ONE - but it has $35 annual fee. Still, it is an amex. Hoping to get the blue cash someday.

I tried getting Discover, but have been turned down a couple of times.

    Default Capital One

Capital One does have an anual fee but it's pretty reasonable and the interest rates are pretty good. My favorite feature about this card is that it has no h***le credit steps (I think that's what they call the program anyway) where if you just pay your bill on time for the first few months they automatically raise your credit in intervals. Where you're score is starting to climb this could be helpful because credit line increases reflect well on your fico.

amex is the best (amex blue), however the credit score needs to be about a 700. Wait a while , they have shopper protection. if stuff u buy breaks within 90days, they'll refund u. also, if u buy a tv from best buy, they give u a years warrant. dont take my word, check the website. but wait till ur score is 700.
