Default hsbc cash or fly mastercard

I am considering getting this card. Part of the attraction seems to be that you can either earn 1% cash rebates or use points for domestic air travel (25,000 points). Read the reviews on this site and it seems like a good idea to have the flexibility to choose either cash or tickets depending on the actual ticket price. Does anyone have this card? any thoughts?

    tks

I checked out this card before but it seems like the only airline ticket rewards is the domestic flight (25,000 points). Rewards look limited to me. I think getting a card like blue cash or even the citi dividend is a much better bet.

I think having the choice of earning 1% cash rebates and redeeming for a domestic airline ticket makes sense. But having said that, I have the citipremier p*** and I think the thankyou rewards are great for airline tickets because they you may need less than the usual 25,000 points depending on your flight. Also, even if you book an unrestricted flight, you may not be required to use double your points. IMO - it has the best airline program out there.

So check out the premierp*** card. If you do not fly often but want to earn points for airline tickets, there are other citicards as well like the Diamond Preferred Rewards and the Citi Porfessional Card.

I figure if Chase stay successful. With the switch to any rewards card program they will all do it.

Anything that leaves you with more control by providing cash, is better than their choosing how you can use your rewards.
