Starwood Preferred Business Card or Amex Gold?

I am a frequent traveler who regularly stays at starwood hotels. I know many friends in my shoes who are also like me and carry a couple of cards like the amex gold and starwood card. However, I am the type of person that likes to carry just one card. Right now, I have the amex gold, but was thinking of switch to the starwood business card for my own business.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to whether I should get the starwood or stick to amex gold?

I have both the amex platinum and starwood. I fly a lot as well and stay at starwood hotels. I like having both cards and the flexibility to use either as and when it suits. The starwood is great because you can transfer 20,000 points into miles and get 5,000 bonus miles (ie 20,000 points gets you 25,000 miles = 1 free ticket). But the amex platinum has many interesting perks like companion ticket on domestic flights which I have found useful.

I'd get the starwood and use it with the amex.

I would go for the starwood anytime. The annual fee is only $30. Yet, all you need is 20,000 points and you can exchange them for 25,000 miles for most airlines. If you really travel a lot and stay at starwood hotels (like me), then I think this is a no brainer. Having said that, I also know a couple of friends who are not frequent travellers but still use the starwood card.
